40-gallon breeder minimum. Vertical space with climbing branches. Sturdy hides.

Warm side: 85-88°F. Cool side: 75-85°F. Thermal gradient. Under-tank heater with thermostat.

Low to moderate (40-60%). Provide water bowl. Good ventilation.

12:12 light/dark cycle. UVB beneficial but not required.

Mice or rats appropriate to size. Juveniles: frequent feeding. Adults: every 7-10 days.

Docile and handleable. Can hold 1-2 times weekly. Generally calm. Support body.

Hardy species. Watch for mites, scale rot, respiratory issues. Live 15-20+ years.
